Week 87 Miracle Family

Hola mi familia querida!!
Thanks for all the letters and the pictures! Castle looks Great! Haha a lot colder than it is here haha it's gonna get up to 38-40 degrees here with 80-90% humidity haha I'm gonna be drenched this week. This last week wasn't so bad, it rained a lot and so it was quite nice outside. We had a great week!
We only had three days to work in our area but as always God Blessed us to be able to find people this week anyways to teach. We didn't work monday or tuesday because it was new years... but we took advantage of that and had our district council instead and planned our week! And then since we were all at the church already we played futbol for like 5 hours, and then switched to basketball. since our zone is mostly americanos we could play decently well. although some of the latinos here can stroke it too. haha it was super fun... We went from there to the apartment and we did an asado together!! A lot of meat... We each ate like 3.25 pounds of meat... it was sooo good haha We had Pork loin steaks, and something that is called falda de vaca it's like the the best meat that you can get off of the cow. It was super tasty and I slept super well that night haha I'll send some pictures.
When I woke up I couldn't move haha My body was soo sore from playing so much soccer and basket. But it was good to be able to sit in bed and prayerfully set goals for this new year. I didn't want to set any goals really for after the mission... don't know if that's good or not... I set a few goals... nothing too big. more just the basic stuff to keep me on track for when I get home. it's only like 2 months... crazy crazy crazy! But I don't feel it yet, and don't think I'll feel it until I get on the plane haha so Until then...

I feel super good about the work that we are doing here in Azcuenaga. WE had two investigators at church yesterday. Roberto and Alejandro. Roberto is going to be baptized the 20th of this months, but alejandro we aren't super sure yet, because he has a mental condition, which makes unsure. He listens to the lessons, and everything, but we aren't sure if he is capable of repenting or not... he's 52 years old, but has the mentality of a 8-12 year old more or less. he's all there, just super young in an old body. and so we are going to keep teaching him to see if it's possible. They are awesome. their last name is moon. The Moon Family.  We taught them a couple times this week and the spirit has been  very strong. Roberto is 79 and the first couple of lessons he didn't want to pray, but now he offers the first prayer of every lesson. He always says to us as we leave "Thank you for coming, I have felt Peace" I really don't know what is holding this man together, but he obviously has to be baptized before he parts from this earth. he is very fragile, he's had like 3 knee operations and still walks to go and buy his groceries for his family. He doesn't complain, he doesn't ever tell us unless we ask. We are going to give him a blessing this week.
Like I said we only worked three days in the area because of exchanges with elders in another area of rosario called France, and then another exchange with the asistents. I went with my old comp Elder Killpack! Haha it was so awesome to teach with him again, he's grown so much and to see the love that he has for the people now is unreal. We felt the spirit alot and we were able to minister to a lot of people, and even set a baptismal date for a woman who had just been baptised in another church 2 months ago... When they feel the spirit... they are willing to change in a heart beat... some of them haha
When we got back from exchanges I was feeling great spiritually and super excited to keep working. We only had saturday and then sunday to work really  and we were able to find 7 new people to teach in these days. One of them was surely a miracle!!
We were walking after a lesson taught, and we thought to go pass by a family that was a reference from the other misioneros in our ward. A family of 4!!! That live a block away from the church who moved there recently and are looking for a change in their lives.  The family consists of a single mom named Marissa, and her three children Milagros 13 (Miracles), Santiago 12 (James), and Lionel 9 :) They are awesome! WE knocked on their door, and the kids answered it, and said that their mom was sleeping... it was 6:00pm, not uncommon for anyone here to be sleeping at this hour haha and so we asked them if they would please wake her up because we had a message to teach them. We waited for 5 minutes and they came back, she's still sleeping... Can you please go and try again, because it's super important that you all hear this message. We waited another five minutes and we had this dialogue 3 time over 15-20 minutes... When she finally came out all dressed and ready for the day haha it's like she had not been sleeping at all. She then asked us what we were doing there, and we said that we were here to share a message that was going to change their lives.... She instantly said  "Do you want to Come in?" We said "if it isn't a bother" (That's how it translates in spanish haha)
We started by asking a few questions about their beliefs and what it is that they were looking for out of our visits. She instantly said "A change" She told us about how she had just seperated from her ex husband because he is a violent man... I felt sadness but saw the light of hope in the eyes of all her children, and knew that we had to help them... We taught the importance of baptism when we are older, and not only as a baby in the catholic church, and that baptism at an older age means more to them now in their lives, because they can choose, and feel an answer from God. Marissa told us that she hadn't gone to church in over 2 months... also very common. But That she wasn't going anymore because she saw that confusion of so many churches and religiones that she didn't know where to go. We told her that it wasn't happenstance that we had shown up at their door, but that God had a plan for them. We taught the restoration and Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon, and at the end when we asked them what they wanted to do with what we had taught they all said. "Find out if it's all true" And we invited them to read 3 nefi 11, and then pray to find out. They all committed to doing it, and are excited to find this change in their lives that they so want. we bore testimony of the truthfulness of the Restoration, and then  promised them in the name of Jesus Christ. That their lives were about to change.
I felt the spirit testify of the truth, and I knew that both groups. My companion and I, and their whole family were edified in the Spirit of the Lord.
The church is soo TRue!!! There is no doubt in my mind! He is accelerating his work, and he will keep doing it. We have nothing to fear, if we are preparing and striving to do our best using the Atonement of Jesus Christ to perfect ourselves through his grace.
I love you guys so much :) XOXOX Have a great week!!
