Week 91

Hey, everyone :)

This week was awesome saw some really cool miracles happen and a lot of tender mercies in the work.

The family of 4 came to church!!!!!!!!! and they are cruising towards their baptism! They understand so much and have felt the spirit testify of the truthfulness of the gospel! They watched the joseph smith movie, and they loved it. They all thought it was super sad... but they all felt the spirit. one of the girls in the family milagros 13, said that when she was watching it, that all the time she just felt more and more that she needs to be baptized :) she is only 13 but understands the spirit super well, and she is so integrated with the young woman in the ward! SO great!

So that was good news, There was also a little bit of sad news too... a Brother in the ward passed away from kidney failure... he was from chile, but had lived in argentina for 40 years looking for a better life. he passed away saturday and we went to the idk what you call it... like a viewing... but there was quite a few members there supporting the event... and me and elder fields walked in to pay our respects, and we noticed that the majority of the people there were super old haha but we saw one young kid their that was 17, but when we started talking to him he didn't really want to talk, it was his great uncle that passed away and he had been on his way with his grandpa to come and visit when they got the call that he'd already passed away... he was pretty emotional and we talked for a bit about sports and how his dream was to go and play in europe soccer. and his accent was super cool, and a little bit funny jaja he's from the province of mendoza here in argentina, where john jones is serving from magrath. I told him that I had a friends in Mendoza, and that when he got home that he had to look for the missionaries to be taught and to play soccer haha he liked the sound of that, and was happy that we were able to talk to him, because he was there all alone. He didn't want to know alot about the church, but one day he'll remember when two strangers from another country talked to him, and he'll be baptized ;)

This week we were able to find 12 new people to teach, and they were all there ´prepared to be taught :) We taught the restoration to one of the families, and it was soo cool to teach and feel the spirit work in the lesson. He really is the teacher, and in this lesson he was the major player like he should be. Elder Fields has a gift really for seeing how and when the spirit speaks to our investigators. We were able to teach this family that were all die hard catholics, and the spirit changed their hearts. One of them is named Yamila, she is the same age as Janae, and is actually very similar in a few ways haha but it was cool to teach her because she had read the bible and ithad confused her a little bit to see soo many churches and also to see her religion commit sooo many crimes and atrocities... at least here in Argentina it is like that. Also the pope is argentine haha and so everyone who is catholic here is super mad at him for not visiting them and stuff haha it's getting easier to teach the catholics now, since from when I got here. Their hearts are being soo prepared.

Me and elder fields have a favorite area to work in called the villa. it's like a favela in Brazil but flat, not on a hill.
basically the people put their houses on the space close to the train tracks and almost touch them haha it's crazy when we are walking through them, and a train is coming we have to get into a house quickly, and it's actually a good trick because a lot of them don't necessarily want to listen to the message, but if a train is coming they have to let us in.... haha but I promise I'm being safe, it's not as dangerous as it sounds. the trains are all really slow, and the people are really nice about it.

But this week was super good, and we learned alot about discerning and the importance of commitments. We are working hard, and I feel great! a little sick still, but It's all good :)
The church is soooooooo True, God exists, and Jesus is his Only begotten son. They love us and we need to be obedient to them, and the profets. I want to invite everyone to read the book of mormon if you aren't doing it :) I know that the church has this new program... but we can't forget the importance of the boo of Mormon :)

I love you all soo much!!! Time is flying but gonna keep on grinding ;)
