Week 69 and training from Elder Rasband

Hey Family!! How's everyone doing!? :)
Sounds like the summer is going great for everyone, lot's to do! haha
That's crazy about all the fires and stuff in B.C and in waterton... it seems like a growing trend every year... I'll be praying that they'll stop soon and rain will come!

Here in argentina it has been warming up a little bit, and we have a about 3 weeks left of winter before spring starts :) The other day there was sun, and I was happy :) Even if that day was when we were rejected the most, I felt the love of God shining down on us and the people of pergamino. Sometimes everyone we talk to wants to listen and then there is other days, that no one does... but I've been learning that there isn't one wasted effort if we are doing all we can to serve the Lord, and at the end of the day we just have to be grateful to be able to serve him and to help him bring to pass his work and glory.

This last week we saw a bunch of miracles happen and we capped off the week being able to go to rosario and listen to an apostle of the Lord as he counseled, talked and blessed us. But starting during the week:

On monday we went to contact a callback that My comp had talked to while on exchanges. His name is Eduardo (Edward) and is from Colombia. he is 56 years old and has been in argentina for 6 years living without his family... trying to work to be able to send money to his wife and kids in colombia... we knocked on his door at 8:30 at night which is really late here in the winter... but after 5-8 min came out and asked us what we wanted, and we told him that we ad talked to him a few days back and that we were there to share a message with him, and he let us right in! :) He said "come in" :) and we shared the message of the restoration with joseph smith and the book of mormon, and at the end he said " I just want to do the right things in my life and follow God..." and then he started to cry, and told us about how he misses his family and how he wants to stop living in the things of the world, and just do good. He was super prepared, and said that he would read and pray to know if these things were true, and said that if they were true he would be baptised!!! Tonight we have an appointment with him with our ward mission leader!! We're pumpd!

We also were contacting trying to find a family that had been baptised about a year ago and we went to the department comlex that they should have been living in, and we didn't find them... but were told by a angry evangelist lady that we were not welcome here... because we were mormons and that we didn't believe in jesus, but that joseph smith atoned for the sins of the world and I don't know what... it was frustrating and impossible to reason with this lady... we tried to explain that we didn't believe in these things, but she just wanted to fight us... I can get a little heated in spanish haha and am working a lot on my charity for evangelists... and it's difficult because we believe in the same gospel but the difference is that we have the restored gospel with the authority and power to do saving ordinances. They just don't understand that not every person that wants to, can be a pastor... and charge tithing, but whatever... we will see the grand fall of all these false religions one day... everyday there are more here in argentina, and everyday they fall too. I'm trying to love them and not fight, because Our Savior wouldn't act like that... but it's not easy when they say so many untrue things... I felt like alma and korihor, when he said
42 Behold, I know that thou abelievest, but thou art possessed with a blying spirit, and ye have put coff the Spirit of God that it may have no place in you; but the devil has power over you, and he doth carry you about, working devices that he may destroy the children of God.

The lady told us to leave, but we didn't... we kept contacting in the complex

But anyways... I wanted to share that with guys because. Right after that happened... we went to the house right next to her's and knocked, and a woman came out and after introducing ourselves she said that we could come in, and we taught her and her husband the restoration and they are going to read and pray also!! :) And are willing to be baptized if they find out from God that it is true! :) It was such a blessing to find this couple so prepared right after being verbally abused for like half an hour trying to talk to the other lady...haha And we know that to find God's elect... he tests us first, and now every time that someone is difficult in a contact, I know that there is a golden person close by. It was such a testimony to me, and I now that I have to be more loving... I have to love more, because I have a very bold companion haha He's awesome, and I am learning a lot from him, and his spirit.

I don't have a lot more time... but I wanted to share a few things that I felt and learned when I was in the mission conference with Elder Rasband.

When we walked into the church we got all set up to take the picture, and he walked in, and looks at us and said"Buenos Dias!" and then "Alright, Lets Do this!" He doesn't speak spanish, but I imagine that he understands it haha and if he had to speak it he would be given the gift of tongues in an instant... what an amazing spirit... it was unlike anything, I'd felt before and I've been in other conferences with apostles before the mission (Elders, Holland, Renlund etc.)

Elder Rasband set apart Presidente Allred when he was called to be our mission president, and also said that he probably had assign a lot of us to our mission here in Rosario... We didn't talk about anything new with him, which I didn't find odd, because there really is only one topic that we need to talk about and that is the Doctrine of Christ. He explained it and taught it so simply, and yet with such power... I felt the spirit testify to me, that he really is an apostle of Jesus Christ, and that he is a special witness of him.

Before the meeting started when we entered he shook each of our hands and welcomed us in. and in his words, had an interview with each of us, shaking our hands and looking into our eyes and at our smiles :)

He talked about how we need to prepare ourselves, and strengthen our own conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To be a continuing missionary, not a returned missionary...

We have a saying in our mission "Es un gran día para ser misionero... y mañana también" (It's a great day to be a missionary... and tomorrow too"
He heard the saying and then changed it to "Es un gran día para recoger Israel esparcido" (It's a great day to gather scattered israel)

I agree, and am soo grateful for this opportunity to be apart of this profesy and it's completion of the gathering of scattered israel. I know that I am serving in a promised land... and that the hearts of the people are being prepared and will keep being prepared to be ready for the second coming of our lord and savior Jesus Christ.  I learned a lot more... but that's what I wanted to share.

God lives. This is his work and his glory.

Love Always,

Elder Hubbard

XOXO
