Week 46

Hi family! yet again this week flew right by... But it was a really good week :) we saw a lot of miracles and are growing a lot closer as a companionship! So that is good!!
Thank you all so much for your emails and prayers and love! I feel it everyday as we walk the streets of pergamino and talk to the people  here!
It sounds like everyone is keeping super busy!! I'm glad that you are all doing well :)
This week was super busy haha
On monday: We got a call from one of the district leaders around 5:30 in the afternoon, and he told us that their apartment got robbed... And so we stopped playing futbol, changed, and took a remis to their apartment to help them and to check out the situation... We got there and they were doing alright! For just being robbed, they were doing great. I would've been ticked... Long story short they got all their money stolen ( From the mission and personal money) And all their clothes were everywhere, the whole house was turned upside down  and basically everything that was of value wasn't there anymore... poor guys.
We told them not to worry about it and that we would help them out :) We helped them clean up everything and then took them home to our apartment... which isn't very big haha and so we passed the night with them and gave them food to eat and water to drink. They were grateful and I was very impressed with their attitudes :) One of my comps said ¨Que va a hacer?¨ (What are you gonna do?)  And the district leader said ¨ vamos a bautizarles¨(We are going to baptize them (The robbers))  haha We ordered pizza and then went to bed! A long day...
Tuesday: We had our district meetings to go to :) the church isn't too far away thankfully. It's right in front of our apartment :) We are all very happy about that!! The elders stay another night asd we went on splits with them and worked the afternoon contacting houses and people in the street!! It was good and they were doing better!!
Wednesday: We finished splits and the elders that had been robbed went to their new apartment that the mission found for them :) It was quite the story trying to get their old apartment to fit into 2 taxis haha but eventually I convinced the taxi driver that he could do it if he wanted to do it haha but he didn't want to do it, and So I showed him that he could do it, and I remembered all of our trips as a family to go camping and vacation haha and how dad could always pack an insane amount of stuff into the landcruiser haha
Thursday: We had another set of splits to do with another companionship of elders that weren't getting along super great... I thought oh great... How are we supposed to help them get along if we don't get along very well... And so before they got to our apartment  I said to my comps (Beuno, Vamos a llevar bien hoy! Ok?) We are going to get along today right?  and they laughed haha And so we helped these two elders contact and focus in the vision of the mission which is to baptize every week as a district, and to talk and invite everyone we talk to about baptism and to be baptized!
Friday: Elder Souza was sick... and so we didn't leave in the morning.... He slept for a bit and we had an important appointment with an investigator at 6, and we needed him to get better... And so we got him up, and I gave him some artemisia, and then gave him a blessing :) And in an hour he was right as rain!! He wanted me to tell you thanks Dad, for being a prepared man :) He said tell your dad thank you for me, and tell him that he is a good and prepared man :) That night we had a really good lesson with our investigator Ariel Peña who wants to be baptized!! He said that he would keep the law of chastity and get married in the next couple of weeks here!!! So we are super excited!! He didn't come to church this sunday because he had to work, but he'll come this next sunday!!
Saturday: We took a bus to a little town of 10 thousand people called ¨Colon¨ haha we had to do a baptismal interview for the investigator of one of our other district leaders :) It went well!! Elder Souza did the interview and me and Elder Quiroz talked with the other elders and cook food in their kitchen!! It was really cool their apartment, because they their apartment is the church also, it's only a basic unit and so the two elders speak every sunday and baptize people in a kiddy pool that is a little bit deeper than normal haha We ate lunch with them and then took another bus ride for like 2 hours back to pergamino :) It's super cool to see fields like back home, but instead of seeing potatoes or canola, there is lots of soy plants and corn.
Sunday: Wow I'm super tired... Today in church one of our investigators came a little late... which was ok haha we were really excited to see him. His name is Oscar, I don't know what happened but there was a bit of confusion with the teachers, and there wasn't the gospel principles class like normal... and so we entered into a deep doctrine class, and sat down haha wew.... I'm going to take a breath right now because if not I get kinda angry  about these kinds of things... (Member behavior)
We were sitting there listening to a lecture about Abraham and a member in front of us started to watch the lion king on his phone... and the other two next to us were texting or listening to music.... I was sitting next to oscar and he leaned over to me, and told me that that he would come back next sunday, I asked why, and he told me that in his church the people aren't allowed to use their cell phones in the lectures... I tried to explain that a lot of the people were following along with the gospel library app, but he asked me about the member who was watching the lion king and I didn't know what to say... there wasn't an excuse for that one... and so he told us that the people need to pay attention to the person that is talking and if they don't they won't learn, and he didn't want to be there.... I was mad... at the members... But It makes more sense as the story goes on haha I judged this man with the lion king a little prematurely...
Our investigator left, and we went up to the priesthood and this man who was previously watching the lion king started to give his class... And I thought wow... After what he just did he's gonna give the class? I wasn't impressed at all haha but I repented during his class... He started to talk about the talk by Elder Zwick about our eyes being opened spiritually... And in the start of this talk he starts talking about the lion king... And so when I thought that he was watching the lion king in the gospel doctrine class... he was actually just preparing his lesson last minute... He talked about how our eyes judge before we know the situation, and a lot of other stuff... but long story short it was an amazing class, and I felt bad for having thought badly of this member, and I went up to him afterword and told him so...

Later that night after a long day of doors being slammed in our faces we went to an old contact and knocked... She came outside (A woman of 78 years) And started yelling at us because she didn't have anything to eat, and her nephew has cancer and is dying and that recently she had a bad accident and hurt her leg and bonked her head badly when she fell... and she slammed the door and we started to walk away... One of my comps reach into his pockets and pulled out 6 dollars (100 pesos) And said (Let's go back) We went back and after 10 minutes of clapping she came back out, and not very happy to see us again. Elder Quiroz said ¨sister, This is all the money I have... take it. And buy food for today, she snatched it from him, and we asked if we could share a message with her. We went into her house and she told us about her accident and how it hurt to walk and that her head was throbbing from the pain. we offered to give her a blessing and she accepted. we gave her as blessing and when we finished she was crying... And said ¨Quiero ser bautizada¨ (I want to be baptized)
It was a super cool miracle :) She told us that she didn't have any pain at all and started to walk perfectly:)
God has shown me again and again, that there is a work to do, and it will be done in his time, and only his time... I'm not very patient sometimes, but I am learning :)
That all for this week!!! It was super good!!! I love all of you soo much and pray for you guys everyday!!!
Lve always and forever,
Elder Hubbard
