Week 23 Rosario

Hola mi querido Familia :)

Wow the time is flying this transfer... it started a little slow, but we only have one more week, and there is going to be changes... well... I shouldn`t say that, because I`ve been saying that for 2 transers already haha but there could be...

you know before how I said that I wanted to leave this area? well... Now I don`t... :(

Mi and my new comp, are starting to click a lot better. He still doesn`t talk, but it`s like I`m learned to read his mind or something haha because now we are finding lot`s of new people to teach and are seeing them progress, which as a missionary the only thing we can do is give thanks to our Heavenly father for helping us and guiding us to those souls who are prepared and waiting for an answer or some kind of luz.

This past week was really good!! We found lots of new people, had lots of good lessons, and capped it off with having around 85 people at church on Sunday :)

One experience that was kinda funny, was we were contacting all of our callbacks one day (Those people that tells us "ah come back another time of the day" haha) We went to one house to try and find a lady named Bernice, we got to the door and this guy told us to go away haha I told him we were looking for a lady named Bernice, he told me that she wasn`t home. When I asked him what his name was he told me that he didn`t want to give me his name haha we asked him what his problem was (nicely) And he told us that he doesn`t like to talk to Jehovah`s Witnesses or to give his name out to people haha we told him that we understood what he was trying to say, and that we weren't Jehovah`s witnesses. He was like " oh! okay. My name is Alan" haha we taught him the whole first lesson in his doorway. he goes to a different church, and told us that he feels comfortable in his church and doesn`t want to change. but then we started to ask questions about the authority that his pastors have, and he was kinda defensive about this at first, but we continued. We told him that a man should be called of God and by the Proper authority to preach and to baptize, he told us that he believed that too. we asked him if he thought that his pastor had this permission from God. He told us that he didn`t think so. He told us that he is going to pray and find out if he needs to be baptized in our church!! So that was pretty exciting! The first time we met him, and he is going to pray and find out if he should be baptized or not... It`s really amazing how God works and directs the work of Salvation on the earth. This lady Bernice is Alan`s sister. it turns out thatshe doesn`t have any interest in our message right now... But we found her brother who does! He has a family of himself his wife and daughter. We have another appointment with them on tuesday!! We`ll see what happens with them :)

Another experience that we had this week was really amazing!!

We have this other investigator who`s family are membors, but not active. He and the mom need to get married, but the problem is in that they aren`t coming to church together as a familiy. only our investigator who is the dad comes to church alone, and he isn`t a membor. anyways...

His girlfriend/partner is a member and isn`t coming to church with him, because she is embarrassed, because he drinks and smoked before, and they have problems together in their house... but they have been together for 14 years... anyways

We brought with us one night this brother in our ward that recently baptized his son. Mateo.
This brother Gomez before had alot of problems in his marriage and with his family, but now they are preparing to go to the temple to be sealed and everything!! they are really a success story like in the movies haha but it`s because of the will of God and of Them.

Anyways we brought him with us, and he came prepared. haha he had like 8 scriptures to read to them, I think almost all of them were found in Alma 5, where Alama just drops the cain on everybody, and tells them to repent, and be saved!!

Anyways, as missionaries it was kind of awkward to be present, because we`ve never been married, and have no idea really, about how to help this couple... we can only rely on the spirit in these times. But this brother from the ward helped soooo much!! it was incredible. The spirit was sooo strong! We were super direct with them, about what they needed to do. We said that they needed to think about seperating, or get married. We told them that this was only way that they could progress towards salvation. I told them that salvation is a personal matter, because only the person can change themselves, and repent. But then I said, but exaltation is a family matter, and that they needed to get married and then further along they could be sealed in the temple.
The last thing that the brother gomez said to them before he left was that they needed to sit down and talk together about all these things, and come to a decision. And as he was leaving he told them that he would be at there house in the morning early, to pick them all up for church, in his car haha  When he left we made empenadas and talked for a while and then left them with a prayer.

This past Sunday, for the first time since I`ve been here, They attended church as a family, and really felt the spirit together. They weren`t fighting, and they were talking about attending the next week as a family again!!! Tender mercies of the lord.

One thing that I have learned in the mission up till now is that the work of the missionaries will move forward always. With the help of members or without the help of them. But The work of Salvation is most efficiently performed, when we as missionaries work with the members of the church! They help soo much! When they want to... haha I wish I could go back to before my mission and help the missionaries more. I didn`t understand how helpful I could`ve been with a referal, or helping them visit someone. It makes all the difference in the world to the missionaries!!

I know it`s probably hard to do this in our town... considering the population, and percentage of members... and the quality of missionaries we always seem to have haha but seriously, if there is something you can do for them, do it PLEASE :)

I was super glad to hear that you are all doing sooooo well!!!! The little boys in the sports and lego, Jianna in sports, school , and driving!! woohoo haha Janae in Japan/Hawaii, Jared and Lys with Minnie!! :) And Mom and Dad as always; Thank you soo much for you love and support, I don`t know where I`d be without it, I really am grateful:) Have a great and fantastic week in all of your ventures!!

Today we are going to go and play soccer with the zone liders in their area :) it`s been a little while since I`ve played, I`ll try and get some pictures!!! for next week!!

Hasta pronto
