Week 37 Dogs!

Hola mi familia :)

Muchas Gracias por sus cartas :)

Este semana fue muy rapido...

It sounds like everyone is super busy with life haha Somethings never change, but I find that I always liked to be busy!  on a mission you are always busy!!!!! And when we aren't we clap alot of doors haha

This week was good!! We are in the service of the lord... What can I say? haha it was amazing!!

We found 6 new investigators and our last one that we found was my favorite experience I think!!

It was sunday night and we were walking the streets of roldan contacting and thinking of who we could go and visit and than it both hit us like a speed bump in  the back of the old 4runner... Angel!!!! We are going to see Angel B....... I said!! haha Elder Fields looked at me and asked who that was, and I reminded him of a week ago when we were walking down the street and a man contacted us... which doesn't really happen very often haha and so when it does you go and you talk to them about it all!!

When  he came and started talking to us he was a little high... ( Weed is a big problem here... like anywhere...)  he's this big guy probably like 6'1 290... I wasn't even surprised at how nice of a guy he was :) He was just a big teddy bear! I don't know if him being a little up there had anything to do with it, but we talked to him for 10 minutes in the streets and then got his house direction and when we could pass by and the other night a week after he had contacted  us  we felt like we should go visit him haha and this story is just starting...

So we starting walking towards his street and we were pretty close but it was starting to get pretty dark and so we starting walking a little faster because it wasn't in a neighborhood very inviting haha Anyways we clapped at his entrance way that we thought was his house... because one of the things in argentina is that not all the houses have numbers... in fact almost all of them are missing at least one number haha but everyone knows their number and so we never doubt that they are telling the truth or not:) It's just a matter of finding the house sometimes haha

And so we knocked and then out of nowhere appeared 7 huge greyhound looking dogs haha and one rottweiler who didn't look to happy about seeing us either.. just our luck was that he was tied up at the time haha But these other dogs were huge, and looked like velociraptors... they were unreal!! anyways they came at us in formation... I was a little unsure if we should've stuck around at this point haha but elder fields was brave  and marched right up close to all of them, and kept clapping very loud. And the dogs didn't really like this and tried to bite him a little bit haha they looked like they were trying to be playful... but I wasn't completely convinced... and so I got closer to elder fields to help him combat the rascals, and we managed to get squared up by these dogs haha and they started to jump up on us... the smallest one was like 4 feet tall just at his head on all fours... and when they jump up on us they were resting their front legs on our shoulder more or less... and we starting fighting them a little bit jaja but still trying to be nice respectable missionaries haha Their muddy paws were all over us so we didn't feel to bad about bopping them right on the nose haha they were terrible creatures to say the least... Anyways to our saving grace the guy appeared had originally talked to us in the street! I said a quick prayer in my heart of gracias, and then he invited  us to pass by and talk for a bit! It was a good lesson and while we were talking outside the dogs didn't bother us at all :) We talked about our purpose to angel, who at the time seemed pretty sober and with it! At the end of the lesson we talked about baptism a little bit and how if he wants to follow jesus christ the first step is baptism, and he told us he'd do it, but that at that moment he was a jehovah's witness haha I looked at him and we kept talking about how god at that moment was calling him and that he needed to listen to the holy ghost... And then he told us that he never really like the religion of his and those jehovah's witnesses and told us it was time for  a change haha so we have another appointment and his wife/ partner... because almost no one is married... which I found out is the fault of their last president who was some sort of liberal who thought that every partnership that had kids out of wedlock deserved to have some sort of extra income... haha the world we live in... and no one gets married here...  but anyway the work of the lord will advance with even more fury and spirit than ever before!!!! I have no doubt about this :)

This week had lots of other good dog stories that I don't have time to tell this week... but just know that I am safe and sound in spite of  all of the dogs that there are here haha

As a district we are also progressing a lot!! As a district we found 32 new investigators this last week and have 7 people with a baptismal date!!! The work is moving forward!!

Anyways I hope you all have an amazing week filled with lots of fun and excitement :)  I know we are going to have one here in Roldan Argentina!!

I love all of you sooo much, and pray for you all the time!! Stay strong and upright in every moment of the day, and trust in god and you will all be liberated from all of your difficulties and temptations :)
The atonement of Jesus Christ is REAL REAL REAL!!! For it to have an affect in our life we need to use it and to use it often :) Repent often and do it because you love Heavenly Father!!!

You are all amazing, may the spirit always be with each one of you in every part of your lives!!

With love,

Joshua ( Elder Hubbard)
